Philosophy/Rationale
The curriculum is designed for our students to
- Develop into an effective communicator
- Experience the transmission of values and
culture, and the development of an aesthetic
sensibility
- Sharpen the tool that language is for
personal growth and the development of thinkers,
pioneers and leaders, as well as for advocacy
The design of the curriculum is grounded in the
view that mastery of the English language enables
the individual to make informed judgements about
moral, philosophical and social issues, and develops
her awareness of the self in relation to the
diversity of human experience.
Philosophy/Rationale
The curriculum is designed for our students to
- Critically examine human experience
- Experience the power of words and the power
of craft, and thus, the importance of using
these critically and creatively to serve society
The design of the curriculum is grounded in the
view that the study of Literature informs a
learner's moral life, by making the learner play
both critic and creator.
